Review: Taking Leaps and Finding Ghosts by Janet DeLee

This use to be on my old book review blog and since that blog is no longer active, I am moving the posts here. I love supporting other authors.

***Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book to review.***

Ginny has a dream of owning her own cottage, but her love of procrastinating has kept her from pursuing it. She decides a new club of people going after their dreams and achieving their goals would be perfect to help keep her on track, which is how the Ideal Life Club was created.  She never imagined the friendships she’d find with those who joined her club.

Lydia has a goal of creating her own cookbook to sell at a school event to help the school update their computer lab. Lee, a contractor, is having supernatural problems on his job sites and is seeking for a solution before he loses his business. Jerry is a song writer and is searching to overcome his stage fright so he can perform in front of people without panicking.  Lastly, Hilda has a dream of pursing a crafting business full time so she can quit her job at the nursing home.

There were bits from each character that I could closely identify with and I felt a kinship with each of them. By the end of the book, the characters all felt like friends I had known forever.

Taking Leaps and Finding Ghosts is a delightful story filled with humor, a bit of ghostly adventure, and the deep bond of friendship. I cheered their triumphs and teared up at their heartbreaks. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Janet DeLee is a talented writer to watch.

I give this book 5 stars.  I highly recommend this book and will be looking for other books from this author in the future.
